Yard sales garage sales, One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, Great way to reuse repurpose recycle upcycle, Great way to network and meet new friends and socialize, Found many “treasures” saved much money and solved many problems
Granny says: “Waste not want not.”
I love yard sales, garage sales. They are a great way to reuse, repurpose, recycle and upcycle as well as save and make money, meet new friends and socialize.
I even bought toys for my mythical grandkids before they were born.
My youngest grandchild, a boy, loves the dinosaurs I bought at a yard sale at the Outer Banks many years ago. They were a great value and much better quality than the ones I see for sale today.
I furnished a cottage I owned years ago at the Outer Banks with many yard sale finds including many with a nautical or ocean theme. I am using 2 of the bar seats I bought then for my 2 youngest grandkids today.
I even made a little money on some antiques that I purchased for little money.
I remember a unique ashtray I purchased for 25 cents sold for over $ 20.
So before you discard a lot of items when housecleaning, give the items a second chance, as well as help someone out.
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
If you are unable to have a yard sale, give away as much as you can to a Salvation Army or other charitable organization.
If you have to put something out for the trash collection, try to time it for good weather and the day before the collection.
Keep it out of the landfill and help others.
