Clothing recycling reusing repurposing, Waste not want not, Favorite white pin point oxford shirt lives on in garden, Strips of cloth and tomato stakes
The shirt, still being used to stake up tomato plants, was one of my favorites. A very well made shirt at a good price.
I bought this shirt decades ago and wore it for many years.
First as a dress shirt with a suit or sport coat.
Many years later with jeans.
Years later as a work shirt.
Years later, with much regret, to the scrap heap to be reused a a cleaning rag or even better, strips of cloth in the garden.
I am still pulling off strips from this shirt.
This shirt was made so well that I may have never sewn a button back on.
But that is what I do as well as making simple repairs.
The lesson is buy quality clothing at the best price and use it up, completely.
Sometimes those quality made cloths can be purchased second hand.
A win win situation.
