Blackboard from recycled reused plywood and 1x2s, Spray on blackboard paint, Easy project for kids of all ages
Granny says: “Waste not want not.”
I was reminded a few minutes ago of this project I did about a year ago for my youngest grandkids.
An inexpensive blackboard made from recycled reused plywood and 1x2s.
The only cost to me was for one can of blackboard paint which can be purchased from many hardware and craft shops.
One side of the plywood should be fairly smooth.
If you don’t have plywood on hand (I always have some scraps on hand) you can usually get a smaller piece from a big box store.
I coated the smooth side with primer I had on hand. If your plywood is not so smooth you can apply more coats of any paint you have on hand.
My blackboard is approx. 3 x 4 feet but that is up to you and the size of your scrap or your desire.
The 1x2s are simply screwed into the plywood. I used drywall screws that I always keep on hand.
Any kids in your life can help with the construction or just use the finished project.
